Hello All,
I am just working out the kinks and setting up my new WordPress based website. I love the NextGEN gallery, and was stoked to load it based on the reviews as well as the app support from places like this. I need to get the Public Uploader working on my site, and am having an issue. I am running the following:
Wordpress ver 2.9.1
NextGEN Gallery Plugin ver 1.4.3
NextGEN Public Uploader ver 1.5
PHP version 4.3 on Godaddy hosted Linux Server (shared)
<span id=”ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_Span2″>(Server technologies: <span class=”DimmedText”><span id=”ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_ServerFeaturesList”>LINUX, PHP 4.3, CGI 2.0, PERL 5.0, PYTHON 2.4, RUBY 1.8.4, MYSQL 4.0.27, 4.1, 5.0)</span></span></span>
When I installed the NextGEN Public Uploader ver 1.5 app it was successful. When I go to activate it I get the following error:
The Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/content/V/I/M/VIMBadmin1969/html/wordpressvimb/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-public-uploader/inc/npu-upload.php on line 13
I believe that this plugin is not compatible on paper with my configuration, but is there any way I can make this work?
Please advise and keep up the great work!!

Hey Greg,
Thanks for trying out our plugin. Currently NextGEN Public Uploader requires PHP 5 to work. Looks like your server is currently running PHP 4.3.
Contact GoDaddy and see if they can get you upgraded.
Thanks!
